Sponsor-a-Step in Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Tower Restoration
If desired a plaque can record the name of the donor or memorial
Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Trust is looking for individual, local society or business sponsorship for each of the 100 steps in the 15th century tower of the Old Kirk that take you from the ground to the bell. The bell is the oldest item in the church, having first been cast in 1553.
The Old Kirk Trust's aim is to preserve the Old Kirk building for community use, as a heritage centre, concert hall and continuing church. The money raised from this venture will be used towards the upkeep, furnishing and improvement of the tower to keep it in use as a vital part of Kirkcaldy's history. It will allow the Trust to carry out vital renovation work, to put in improvements and to make the building suitable for the public to visit on a daily basis.
Sponsor-a-Step for £100 and in return for your donation you will be added to the register of Friends of the Old Kirk. If desired a plaque can record your name as donor or a memorial dedication.
To make a donation please print off this page and when completed send it with a cheque payable to "Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Trust" to the Trust's Registered Office, 12 Hendry Road, Kirkcaldy, KY2 5JJ. Alternatively you can ask us for our bank details to make a direct payment to our account, or you can make a donation by clicking the DONATE button on our Home Page.
Thank you for your interest in the Old Kirk. Please come and visit us soon! If you can climb to the top of the tower, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view! After the project is completed, those with mobility issues will be able to see the view from two webcams fitted on the tower.
